Dr. Colm O’Dowd

Colm O’Dowd has worked extensively as a researcher in medical device development and biotechnology throughout the EU, Middle East, and Asia. He holds a PhD in radiation biology from the Dublin Institute of Technology and has provided R&D support to a host of organisations in sectors including the medical devices, biomaterials, marine and polymer industries since 2014. He has significant experience in project management and was Director of Project Management for Drive Medical, a US-based MNC from 2018 – 2020. Colm was co-founder and CEO of Vornia Ltd, a medical device start-up company from 2010 – 2014. and successfully oversaw the implementation of the ISO13485 Quality Management System for the design and manufacture of implantable materials.
